Project Scope

Pallet Conveying Project Increases Process Efficiency with Integrated Batch Weighing System

NBE pallet conveying systems for bulk material containers and packaging are critical to the effective transfer of material during production operations.

Project-Specific Engineering:

Whether moving material containers into or out of production, conveying containers from process to process, or from processing to packaging, NBE pallet conveying systems ensure material is moved efficiently and accurately.

Project Performance:

This NBE pallet handling conveyor project leverages an application-specific controls and automation architecture developed during NBE engineered-to-application project execution. The NBE chain-drive live roller conveyor (CDLR) system, together with each of the eight gaylord filling stations, are controlled from a single, menu-driven, touchscreen HMI. Each gaylord filling station has an integrated, automated weigh scale system. As each gaylord is automatically filled to within 5% of the target fill weight, densification occurs evenly throughout the entire pallet to establish a base fill volume per gaylord. A dribble-fill function then fills each gaylord to the target weight of within 1% of the total fill weight. NBE integrated automation provides system-wide conveying and material supply control, including: container routing, drive controlling, material sensing, gaylord densification, and control layer data monitoring. This NBE pallet handling conveyor project contributes to increased processing efficiencies by reducing material waste, optimizing line speed and capacity, and helping to provide a safe operator work environment.
